When you think “playground,” you probably think monkey bars, tag, and a place for younger siblings to burn off energy during big sibling games. But what if I told you that same space could be one of the best (and most fun) spots to level up your child’s soccer skills?
This week, we turned a Gaga ball pit into a one-touch passing arena—and it worked like magic.
Why It Works:Playgrounds offer small, enclosed spaces perfect for tight control and quick touches. Add in some creativity, and suddenly you’ve got a mini training facility.
The Drill: One-Touch Passing in a Gaga Ball Pit
Solo: Pass the ball against the wall and work on timing your return touches.
With a Parent or Sibling: Pass back and forth—challenge each other to only use one touch per pass.
Focus: Stay light on your feet, pass with both feet, and work in a rhythm.
Make It a Challenge:
✅ Use only your non-dominant foot
✅ Set a timer—how many clean passes can you do in 30 seconds?
✅ Move between corners after each pass
✅ Add a cone or toy to pass around like a moving defender
Why It’s Great for Kids (and Parents):
Builds touch under pressure
Keeps practice short and fun
Gives younger siblings a role in training
Turns “waiting at the park” into development time
Your Turn:
Let your kid explore this drill their way. Praise their effort, not just the clean passes. Growth looks like hustle, giggles, and repetition.
